Das Selb­st­porträt TAKE CARE OF YOUR HANDS (deutsch etwa „Acht­en Sie auf Ihre Hände“) nimmt Bezug auf das Gemälde „Der Ster­bende“ von Lucas Cranach. Es wirft einen inti­men Blick auf die The­men Nach­haltigkeit und Umweltschutz sowie auf den mod­er­nen Imper­a­tiv zur Selb­stop­ti­mierung und die daraus resul­tieren­den wider­sprüch­lichen Gefüh­le. Zwis­chen TV-Show, Selb­sthil­fe­gruppe und Beicht-Szenario mis­cht das Video gefun­dene Beiträge aus Inter­net­foren mit per­sön­lichen Gedanken der Kün­st­lerin über die eigene Unzulänglichkeit.

The self-por­trait TAKE CARE OF YOUR HANDS refers to the paint­ing “The Dying Man” by Lucas Cranach. It takes an inti­mate look at the top­ics of sus­tain­abil­i­ty and envi­ron­men­tal pro­tec­tion, as well as the mod­ern imper­a­tive for self-opti­mi­sa­tion and the result­ing con­tra­dic­to­ry feel­ings. Between TV show, self-help group and con­fes­sion sce­nario, the video mix­es found posts from inter­net forums with per­son­al thoughts about the artist’s own inad­e­qua­cy.
