THE MAKING OF basiert auf Found-Footage-Mate­r­i­al aus der wach­senden Anzahl von Tuto­ri­als über „Groom­ing“ auf Youtube. Es legt den frag­ilen Moment frei, in dem der Blog­ger nicht spricht, sich stattdessen selb­st im Spiegel der Kam­era betra­chtet oder von seinen Hand­lun­gen vol­lkom­men vere­in­nahmt wird. Barthaar wird zu Mate­r­i­al, das mit Hil­fe von Maschi­nen inten­siv bear­beit­et wer­den muss. Das Video stellt Fra­gen an das Konzept der Natür­lichkeit und an die soziale Kon­struk­tion von Geschlecht. 

THE  MAKING OF is based on found footage mate­r­i­al from the grow­ing num­ber of tuto­ri­als about groom­ing on Youtube. It expos­es the often frag­ile moment when the blog­ger does not speak but only looks at him­self in the mir­ror of the cam­era or is con­sumed by his actions. Hair of the beard becomes mate­r­i­al that has to be worked on inten­sive­ly with the help of machines. The video rais­es ques­tions about the con­cept of nat­u­ral­ness and the social con­struc­tion of gen­der.
